Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and was raised by an ethnically diverse, multiracial family. Her father Elroy is Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Jacqueline is the oldest of two siblings and a younger sibling. The family have moved to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan turmoil and she was born and raised in Bahrain. Schooling was finished within Bahrain and she won the Scholarship to attend an education at University of Sydney. There she graduated with the Media and Communications degree. She went to in the Berlitz school of languages, that helped her learn French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 competed in Miss Universe 2006 as well as Miss Universe 2006 when she took home the title in 2006. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006, Padukone began working on television. She hosted the show Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone has a daughter with the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was raised in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. As a teenager Padukone competed in a variety of national badminton tournaments. However, she resigned from playing when she made the decision to become a fashion model. Padukone's native language is Konkani. She is Mangalorean in her origins. Padukone is a village in Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 80s. Her mother, a travel agent, is also from this area.
